San Marcos Cooperative
The most detailed map shows the town of Chanchicupe at the end of the gravel road up Volcano Tajumulco in the region of San Marcos, Guatemala.  A road of sorts continues on to the town of Casario el Naranjo, where all traffic stops at an unpassable ravine.

At the end of the road live Elmer, Victor, Francisco, Gilberto, and Candelaria, the five farmers who comprise the heart of our San Marcos cooperative.  Virtually all their lives, they have raised coffee fruit.  For the last few years, they have been processing it to the dried, unhusked pergamino stage.  With the help of As Green As It Gets™ training, financing, and capital equipment, they are now processing their coffee to oro, or green, unroasted stage.  They first exported their own coffee in 2007.
