Franklin Voorhes is the founder and director of As Green As It Gets.  While on a volunteer assignment in Guatemala several years ago, Franklin saw an opportunity to work with disadvantaged families who produce marketable products. So he piloted a small business development program with coffee farmer, Felix Poron.  Franklin and Felix focused on product development, business management and marketing.  It worked.  Now, the coffee program is comprised of 20 farmers and As Green As It Gets has expanded to include jewelry, textiles and reforestation programs.
Laura Shearer started out with As Green As It Gets working on a special project to help the organization establish itself in the marketplace. And she got hooked! Now, as Assistant Director, you will find her in the office doing anything from website publishing to supporter relations to training volunteers to systems management to translating. Though her primary responsibility is keeping Franklin organized!
With a passion for chemisty and foresty, you couldn’t find a better match for our biodiesel program than Elliot Hohn.  Elliot has been busy developing a process to convert coffee fruit and castor beans into diesel.  Elliot will also leads tours and helps with our reforestation program.
Kevin Sebold is a green thumb.  He climbs Volcán Agua every day to help the farmers in their coffee fields.  He has been digging water catchments to reduce the impact of the canicula (two-week droughts in the rainy season) on young plants.  He also plants seedlings to help farmers intercrop their fields.
Erin Heimer is Director of All Things Computers.  He is also developing a customized accounting system for As Green As It Gets programs. Erin has been assisting Elliot in the research stage of the biodiesel program.
Kristine Witt is a part-time volunteer who does all of our less than exciting, but very necessary, accounting.  Kristine is an important link between our Guatemalan operations and US and Canadian customers.
Emmett Kennefick is helping us grow our wholesale coffee export market.
